As a member of Semper Fi, would you like to help fellow veterans – such as wounded warriors and their families – reintegrate into our community and into our workforce? If so, you can participate in one or all of the following areas: Mentoring/Counseling wounded veterans Job Search Assistance for veterans, particularly for Wounded Warriors. Identifying Marines in Alabama needing assistance. Visiting vets at nearby VA hospitals and other local facilities. For Veterans' Support, Semper Fi partners with Still Serving Veterans, the Marine Corps League (Huntsville Detachment), Veterans Upward Bound and Alabama Marine Moms. Still Serving Veterans is a Huntsville-based non-profit whose mission is to empower wounded veterans, and their families, by helping them reintegrate into the workforce and community via counseling, coaching, guiding, job transition, and assisting in obtaining VA benefits. Veterans Upward Bound is a grant funded by the U.S. Department of Education designed to help veterans refresh their academic skills and give them the confidence they need to successfully complete a college degree. “The men and women who served our country deserve a smooth transition when they decide to go to college.” The Veterans Upward Bound Program in North Alabama is administered by the North Alabama Center for Educational Excellence. If you are a veteran in need of a personal computer to pursue your educational goals, or a wounded warrior in need of a PC for your daily use, Semper Fi would like to help you. Through a partnership with the National Katrina Foundation, we are able to provide PC's to eligible veterans. Just check this out with us.
